One Week // One Band: Great opportunity blinks.
A deep blue keyboard hum. Flourescent chimes. Blasts of static. A low purr of feedback. A bleary, early A.M. airport. Conveyor belts. Michael Stipe’s voice, deep in the mix, singing of moving sidewalks, sallow-skinned travelers, traveling with enviable efficiency beyond…
Oh gosh I’m quoted in this. I feel the need, though, to clarify that I really do think that “Airportman” is a lovely, great, fantastic, ethereally wonderful song. I’m just not sold on it’s placement.
But let it be known: my homework for tomorrow is to place “Airportman” on the top of Up again, and see how it plays/sounds/blends/flies/goes/works/listens/blinks.
